So I won’t say my boyfriend of almost a year is the most annoying boyfriend out there, however there is one thing he does that never fails to make me laugh in disbelief or roll my eyes in complete annoyance. At random times whenever I decide to assert my opinion on a matter and it conflicts with his view or I just try to talk to him, he will raise his hand straight in front of him (as if to say ‘stop’) and say, “Silence peasant.” Let me give you an example…
Me: Hey babe, did you ever go by the bank and deposit our paychecks?
Boyfriend: [remains silent]
Me: Babe?
Boyfriend: Silence Peasant!
or
Boyfriend: So what did you think about that movie?
Me: Meh, it was okay
Boyfriend: But what about that ending?!?
Me: I think it probably could have used…[getting cut off]
Boyfriend: Silence Peasant!
"I'm Chuck Bass"
Also recently, I’ve been making him watch the first season Gossip Girl with me (so I do admit this may partially be my fault). If you watch Gossip Girl at all, you know there is a character named Chuck Bass who is a rich kid and extreme womanizer who, when asked questions about why he does things or why he though he could get away with something, he simply answers, “I’m Chuck Bass.” Well, my boyfriend has picked up on this and now likes to use this line. For example, the other night we were sitting in bed watching TV when he leans over and burps right in my face. When I asked in shock, “why did you just do that?!”, he simply replied, “I’m Travis Weaver.”
I’m hoping this is just a stage and eventually he’ll realize he’s not a knight or king from many centuries ago or rich high school kid from NYC but until then, I’ll continue to roll my eyes.
