“I’m adorable”

IMG_0466

Every once in a while, my husband will do something really sweet or cute. Something that will actually remind me: ‘oh yeah, this is why I married him’.  And just as I’m about to tell him that I appreciate him, he gives me a look and a smile that he believes is utterly charming and says, “I’m adorable!”  You see, not only does my husband think he’s about 10 years younger than he really is (which is a topic for another time), he also believes he has the beguiling delightfulness of a young boy who just lost his two front teeth to the tooth fairy.  What he seems to fail to realize, however, is that the more adorable he thinks he is the more annoying he actually becomes.

YES YES YES, MY HUSBAND IS THE SAME WAY!!!!!!!!!!

  2. OMG YES. My husband does this too! Whenever he makes a joke that isn’t funny he says “I’m Funny! You Love Me!” The sad thing is that I always laugh at this point. I can’t help it. I know, rule #1 is don’t encourage them.

  3. My fiance is exactly the same. We’ll spend hours a day together, but most of the time, we don’t talk much. After awhile, he’ll do something sweet/thoughtful like bringing me a drink even though I didn’t ask for one, or turning on my favourite song, or just telling me he loves me, and right when I go to tell him that he’s a sweetie and I love him, too, he says “I’m so sweet, aren’t I?” And I just give him the look, like, “Really? You just HAD to say that, didn’t you?”

  4. I created the monster by telling my husband how cute he was in the beginning of our relationship. Now he believes it wholeheartedly, and thinks it is his ticket to all kinds of behavior.
