This just happens to be one of my husband’s favorite and most annoying statements. Anytime I ask him if he’s done something (such as wash the dishes or bought dog food) and he says no, I ask him why not. He promptly responds, “You don’t know what it’s like to be me!”. *sigh*
As if he’s so unique in his complexity that I can’t possibly understand why he didn’t have time to stop at the pet store and pick up dog food. I mean, really? No, I don’t know what it’s like to be him. But I do know what it’s like to be me and lemme tell you, if I have to hear that phrase one more time, it ain’t gonna be pretty.

WOW… awesome blog. I worked with Mark back at Ch. 10 a long time ago — during his first stint there I believe… I thought he was pretty normal and mellow. Now I see the truth — he’s just like any other husband basically.
You’ve got a great writing style and great material. Ever think of giving up your day job for your blog?? Really, very funny stuff! BTW, if you ever need some blackmail pics… I have one of him drinking out of a baby bottle at our first baby shower in one of those cheesy games. Hahahaha.

Erin, I’d love ANY embarrassing pictures you may have of my husband – I’m sure they’d come in handy for the blog! And yes, I’m sure he’s just like any other husband: annoying. I’d be glad to post other people’s stories of theirannoying husbands/boyfriends/partners so send ‘em my way. Glad you enjoy the blog!

My husband likes to explain that he “didn’t feel doing anything today.” I NEVER feel like it, but I ALWAYS do it, don’t I? Why are they like this, and is it possible to raise a male thats not like this?

My honey’s version of that is ” You just don’t understand!” Understand what? That you watched anime instead of taking out the trash? HEEELLLO! Not that complicated.

I am so happy to find someone else who knows what I’m going through!! I’m beginning to think we really are all from different planets. Please keep writing and I will be a faithful reader. Somehow, it makes me feel a little less alone. Ha Ha!!
Thanks.

Love your blog! My friend sent it to me, and I plan to forward it to some other friends who will find it as funny as I do. Too bad, some people take it too seriously and can’t find the humor. . .
When my husband doesn’t get around to doing something (which happens on a regular basis or, essentially, anytime he has something unappealing to do), he routinely tells me “I just didn’t have time…” Big sigh. Aw, so sad for you Big Guy. It is very difficult to refrain from asking him if the time he didn’t have was burned up while he was watching sports, on Facebook, reading the paper? For cryin’ out loud, the man gets up at 5:30 am and doesn’t leave the house until 7:30. What the heck is he doing?
Well, I’m off to make dinner reservations for our 11th anniversary. I have made that call 11 years in a row, but every year he tells me he is going to do it. Oh well, just no time!

LOL, same!
Of course you know what happened…on number 11 I finally thought, “Ah well, maybe it’s time to let this Anniversary stuff go, he doesn’t mind” so did nothing….and he sends big bunch of flowers, thoughtful card etc etc…and was sooo hurt when he realized that for the first time I hadn’t done a thing. I felt super stink.
You can’t win
