The Robot

July 31, 2009 · 9 Comments

My husband likes to talk like a robot. For no good reason, he’ll just bust out the robot voice. (Does this guy think he’s a terminator or something?) It was even in our vows “I promise to love you – even when you talk like a robot”. You think that’s bad? He also likes to do the robot dance. We can be in the car, stopped at a red light, and he’ll just bust out the robot dance to whatever song is playing. Or we’ll be watching “The Shield” and as the closing credits roll, the robot dance will start. Maybe it sounds funny but after the 50th time or so, it’s just plain annoying.

There's no photographic evidence of The Robot but this picture speaks volumes about my annoying husband

“I don’t think I’m going to make it”

July 31, 2009 · 19 Comments

Every time  my husband sneezes, he follows that up with saying “I don’t think I’m going to make it”.  (Sometimes he varies it with, “I’m ok.  I’m ok.”  Is he trying to assure me or himself?  Because I was definitely never worried.)  He seems to think that a sneeze is a certain sign of a fatal illness or something.  Just to give you an idea of how annoying this can get, he’s allergic to dust and we have a really dusty apartment so this whole sneezing routine can happen multiple times a day. Fun, huh?

“You don’t know what it’s like to be me!”

July 30, 2009 · 14 Comments

This just happens to be one of my husband’s favorite and most annoying statements.  Anytime I ask him if he’s done something (such as wash the dishes or bought dog food) and he says no, I ask him why not.  He promptly responds, “You don’t know what it’s like to be me!”.  *sigh*

As if he’s so unique in his complexity that I can’t possibly understand why he didn’t have time to stop at the pet store and pick up dog food.  I mean, really?  No, I don’t know what it’s like to be him.  But I do know what it’s like to be me and lemme tell you, if I have to hear that phrase one more time, it ain’t gonna be pretty.
